Emergency Grant: Meals on Wheels Collin County
In August, we distributed an Emergency Grant of $5,000 to Meals on Wheels Collin County for Emergency Meal Boxes containing (5) shelf-stable or frozen meals to be utilized by our clients when supplemental meals are needed. Meals can also be utilized when MOWCC cannot complete meal deliveries due to weather-related events, holidays, or national emergencies.
In addition to the Emergency Meal Boxes, Safety/Power kits were also created to provide support to our highly vulnerable clients, including phone charger banks, flashlights, cases of bottled water, supplemental protein shakes, handheld fans, etc. The safety kits are intended to provide some relief to our clients during power outages.
When we had bad power outages last year, only two companies would help us. The Rosendin Foundation was one of them. We were able to get portable charging stations and other items out to our clients. We are really thankful for you guys.”
